I just got a new one a few days ago and it seems they have redesigned both the travel case and the sponge. Before, it would puff up nicely and become very soft/bouncy/flexible, but that is not the case anymore. Before I absolutely loved it, but with this new design, or maybe this was just a fluke, I am very unimpressed. The case is also made out of what feels like much more durable plastic. It is now VERY firm even when I completely saturate it with water.
